Parameters for ICAI Seminars and Conferences

Parameters   for   granting   the   status   of   “National   Seminar”,   “National   Conference”, “All India Conference”  and “International  Conference”   as applicable  to all programmes having CPE Credit (Applicable from 1‐6‐2012)

NATIONAL SEMINAR

1.    The Programme  should  be organized  by the Central  Committees  of the Institute.  The Host of the programme can only be any Branch/ Regional Council of the Institute.

2.    The faculty should  preferably  be from the region concerned  as well as from other regions.

3.    The Minimum No. of participants in the programme should preferably be not less than:

For Very Large Branches & Regional Offices
(i.e. having 3000 or more members)         500

For other Branches
(i.e. having less than 3000 members) 300

4.    The participation should preferably be from more than 3 states outside the region

5.    The  Programme  should  be  of  one  day  duration,  having  at  le a s t  two  technical  sessions and 6 hours of CPE credit.

6.  The Background material pertaining to each technical session must be circulated to the participants.  A copy  of the  Background  Material  so  distributed  must  be  sent  to  the  CPE Secretariat along with a soft copy.

7.    In case, the hosting Regional Council/ Branch fails to comply with the requirement of minimum number of participants as mentioned in Clause no. 3 above, the said Regional Council/ Branch shall not be eligible to host any such programme during that calendar year.

8.    A Committee  of the Central Council can organize five such programmes  in a region during a calendar year.

1.    The Programme  should be organised by the Central Committees  of the Institute. The Host of the programme can only be any Branch/ Regional Council of the Institute.

2.    The faculty  should  preferably  be from the region  concerned  as well as from other regions.

5.    The  Programme   should  be  for  more  than  one day  duration,  having  at least  2 technical sessions per day and minimum of 9 hours of CPE credit.

6.   The Background material pertaining to each technical session must be circulated to the participants.  A copy  of  the  Background  Material  so  distributed  must  be  sent  to  the  CPE Secretariat along with a soft copy.

7.    In case, the hosting Regional Council/ Branch fails to comply with the requirement of minimum number of participants as mentioned in Clause no. 3 above, the said Regional Council/ Branch shall not be eligible to host any such programme during that calendar year.

ALL INDIA CONFERENCE

1.    The Programme should be organized by the Central Committees of the Institute. The Host of the programme can only be any Branch/ Regional Council of the Institute.

2.    The faculty shall preferably be from all over the country.

3.    The Minimum No. of participants in the programme should preferably be not less than:

For Very Large Branches & Regional Offices
(i.e. having 3000 or more members)         600

For other Branches
(i.e. having less than 3000 members) 400

4.    The participation shall preferably be from more than 3 states outside the region.

5.    The Programme shall be of minimum 2 days duration, having at least 2 technical sessions per day and minimum of 12 hours of CPE credit.

6.  The Background material pertaining to each technical session must be circulated to the participants.  A  copy  of  the  Background  Material  so  distributed  must  be  sent  to  the  CPE Secretariat along with a soft copy.

7.    In case, the hosting Regional Council/ Branch fails to comply with the requirement of minimum number of participants as mentioned in Clause no. 3 above, the said Regional Council/ Branch shall not be eligible to host any such programme during that calendar year.

8.    A Committee of the Central Council can organize five such programmes  in a region during a calendar year.




INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE


1.    The  Programme  should  be  organised  under  the  auspices  of  the  International  Affairs
Committee of the Institute only.

2.    There   shall   be  a  participation   of  some   international   professional   bodies   wherever deemed necessary.

3.    The Minimum No. of participants in the programme should preferably be 500

4.    At least 2% of participants should be from outside India.

5.    At least, 1/3rd of the speakers/Chairmen of technical sessions shall be from outside India.

6.    The Programme should be of minimum 2 days duration, having at least 2 technical sessions per day.

7.    The Background  material pertaining  to each technical  session must be circulated  to the participants.  A copy of the Background  Material so distributed  must be sent to the CPE Secretariat along with a soft copy.


Exceptions to the above parameters in all the above cases shall only be with the approval of the CPE Committee
